I used to work at GameStop and all I could do was shake my head as I watched the MASSIVE pile of shitty shovelware come into that store. Anyone who calls the Wii library of games "fantastic" needs to get their head examined.

I will bet that 95% of people who owns a Wii, don't even use it and it is probably collecting dust 10 of the 12 months out of the year. NOBODY, and mean NOBODY, that I know that has a Wii plays it more than 4 weeks out if the year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6177656729741178107.post-39271668025795607782012-02-07T18:47:52.022-06:002012-02-07T18:47:52.022-06:00It's pretty true, the system was a really cool...It's pretty true, the system was a really cool idea, and if they had brought out a game that used the motion controls as well as skyward sword in the first year it would have been the coolest system ever, but I only have 8 games for it and I'm a pretty huge nintendo fanboy. I'm super excited for the Wii U, because really I feel like I've been stuck in the Gamecube generation in graphics/system capabilities for the past 4 years.Eternitrashttp://reddit.com/r/nintendonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6177656729741178107.post-42276218750812895742012-02-07T18:35:51.926-06:002012-02-07T18:35:51.926-06:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Sandiesandwicheadmanhttp://reddit.com/r/nintendonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6177656729741178107.post-10648938761838955012012-02-07T18:31:18.458-06:002012-02-07T18:31:18.458-06:00"Wii is easily the worst system ever released..."Wii is easily the worst system ever released by Nintendo and, in my opinion, one of the worst consoles ever released."

I stopped reading when I got to this.Respondorhttp://reddit.com/r/nintendonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6177656729741178107.post-1953583802804579912012-02-07T15:07:33.695-06:002012-02-07T15:07:33.695-06:00Randomly came across this and likied every word yo...Randomly came across this and likied every word you said. You can't deny that the Wii only had a few good games while other games were just nintendo lisensed or had a bunch of games like Call of Duty: World at War remade onto the Wii so that you could shoot with a controller shaped gun.XCABXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13839286449203500011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6177656729741178107.post-64658527152319816792012-02-07T08:36:06.849-06:002012-02-07T08:36:06.849-06:00The Wii has some great games but come on, 90% of W...The Wii has some great games but come on, 90% of Wii releases are licenses or shovelware. Plus, like I said in the article, there is exactly ONE game that uses the Wii to its full potential, and it came out 5 years after the system launched. Yes the Wii has some great games but percentage wise the library is filled with some of the worst crap since the Atari 2600.DanMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17829454506410982048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6177656729741178107.post-66445906408157730152012-02-06T23:54:22.074-06:002012-02-06T23:54:22.074-06:00The Wii has lots of quality software. Like I said in the article, Nintendo expects to lose over $850 MILLION for fiscal 2011, its first fiscal loss in THREE DECADES, largely in part to the Wii's sales falling off a cliff. It was (note:past tense) a financial success but is slowly dragging the company down the financial shitter...why do you think they are pushing the WiiU out so soon?

Nintendo shot itself in the foot with this system by catering to motion control fad buyers instead of building a long-term content platform like Microsoft and Sony did. Every time Nintendo was releasing Wii Fit or Music or Ballitch or whatever $50 tech demo they could slap together, MS and Sony were buying up reliable, proven developers and creating great content in-house. Nintendo included the extremely limited online functionality of the Wii basically as an afterthought...they dismissed it early on and by the time an online platform became the main focus for MS and Sony it was too late for the big N.

Just think about what you can do with Xbox Live and the PSN these days apart from gaming: streaming movies/TV/music, watching PPV events, sports subscriptions like MLB.tv and NFL Sunday Ticket, posting on social platforms like Facebook/Twitter/Etc...the list goes on and on. What can the Wii do? Stream SD Netflix, maybe Hulu Plus in the future and surf the web with a web browser that was outdated 6 years ago...that's IT.

In conclusion: if you compare the Wii's services to the PS3's/360's and think that an $850 million dollar loss is a success from a business standpoint then you are deluded. Like the article says, I was the Wii's biggest cheerleader up until 2008 and even I can see what a POS it is from a gamer's/consumer's standpoint.DanMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17829454506410982048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6177656729741178107.post-50325669731868676372012-02-06T17:04:07.847-06:002012-02-06T17:04:07.847-06:00How the fuck did the Wii fail exactly? Yeah sure it's not for the mainstream gamer with it's waggle controls but you can't deny the fact that from a business standpoint it was a success and still continues to be one.

Just because you won't find all the Call of Duty fanboys playing together on it doesn't mean the system was a failure. This article is a failure.CumMrTalleyMannoreply@blogger.com
